Paul Walker, star of the “Fast and Furious” films, died Saturday in a single-car accident and explosion.
The actor died in a car accident and explosion in Southern California, first reported by TMZ. Walker’s Facebook page then confirmed the report.

Universal, the studio behind the “Fast and Furious” franchise, released the following statement: “All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the FAST AND FURIOUS films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.”

The TMZ report states the accident occurred in Santa Clarita, just north of Los Angeles. The actor was reportedly riding in a Porsche that lost control for an unknown reason and hit a post or tree before bursting into flames.
